Los Campesinos! / Summer Camp - NME Awards show - Shepherds Bush Empire, 2 Feb 2011

Peter Bjorn and John, Old Blue Last 3 Feb 2011

Peter Bjorn and John were something of a revelation. I was expecting quirky and twee and instead got something more like a rock power trio. Read my full review HERE

Stars - my favourite band in the world

I found this lovely piece of video, Stars playing two songs, 'Your Ex-Lover Is Dead' and 'Haunted' with only a guitar in one song and a piano in the other. It's enchanting.

I am happy to re-post the Vimeo video here, but I think you should head over to the original site, La Blogotheque, http://www.blogotheque.net/Stars,5874 to read about how it came about, have a look at their other stuff, and frankly give them some regard and some site-traffic. Merci beaucoup guys !

The music is insistent, I love her attitude, her slight digs at the R & B status quo. Sure it's pop music but it's intelligent. British R & B that I can not only live with but love (and no I'm not getting paid to write this). To quote someone recently, fuck the cynical
