This I think is an absolutely EXCELLENT single - my review is over at http://www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk/content/content_detail.php?id=4765&type=Singles
Added to which I have just interviewed the band, just waiting for that to be edited. I am REALLY looking forward to the album, for which we must apparently wait until January. Boo hoo sob

Yet more Warpaint!
While I'm the mood for Warpaint (which quite frankly is going to last for a long long time) here is a lovely video for Undertow courtesy of Yours Truly

Warpaint, Scala London 28 Oct 2010
I seem to be making a habit of going to see people more than once - if I like them that is. I more than like Warpaint, I'm slightly blown away. I saw them at Camp, carried along by enthusiasm and a one-time listen to their EP. I found them pretty good, quite loud. Then I got the album, proper paid for it'n'all, and unlike a few friends, it gelled for me straight way, like a jack in a box, bam! I love the way it shimmers all the way through, as though the sound is reflecting off and being filtered through metal foil confetti. And that was what I heard tonight, hanging over a balcony at the Scala, a cohesive whole, that shimmery thing. What I saw was a band that were on fire before they started, as well they might given the reception 'The Fool' has had. I saw Emily transform from a slightly awkward shoegazer to needing more mic lead please, the girl's gotta dance, eventually coming a halt during encore 'Billie Holiday' on her back with her legs in the air. I also love the democracy of this band, switching vocals back and forth. Top songs were 'Beetles' - which had me in a trance so that when the melody broke down and reprised, I thought I was in some recursive fractal waking dream. That and 'Undertow' which had me and EVERYBODY singing along.
I've just checked the UK album charts and it came in at number 3 in the BBC indie album charts. So there!
